It's official. The Lukin's are California residents. The announcement was made by Lauryn and I in the parking lot of the Glendale, CA DMV. The accomplishment was no small task as we took our first written test since the Spring of '02. Given the fact that we were at the game until close to 10PM the night before, and considering we've had about 6 minutes of free time since we started work, it was a throwback cram session when we got home, flipping through 60+ pages of road signs and crosswalk etiquette. The following morning, which began just a few hours later at 6AM, we headed north to Glendale. Made a quick stop at a gas station and learned that the Prius was indeed earth-friendly and therefore did not require a smog test. Then pulled into the DMV and guess what, despite the 80 degree weather and palm trees, the DMV's still are no fun out west...
Alas, we passed, and along with my license, I was awarded brand new license plates. The kind you typically see on the walls of bars or at the end of movies before the credits roll. It's just something about that script font that says, "Life is Good". No arguments here.
