The hits just keep on, well, not coming. But this time, it wasn't the Dodger bats that stayed silent as Hiroki Kuroda one-hit the Braves tonight, elevating LA to a first-place tie in the NL West with the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a whirlwind of a game, lasting just over 2 hours, but the most exciting part of the night (other than Lauryn seeing Owen Wilson in the Press Box - see sidebar) was a brief encounter between Kuroda and catcher Russell Martin on their way off the field.
As Martin walked by Kuroda, he motioned to the Japanese speaking star of the night that the proper way to acknowledge the crowd was with a tip of the cap. And Kuroda obliged, invoking a standing ovation from the fans still in the stands. Welcome to Hollywood Hiroki. And welcome to first place.
